Lolo Jones was born on August 5, 1982 in the US. She is a professional track and field athlete, specialized in the 60 and 100 meter hurdles. While at LSU she got 11 All American honors and won three NCAA titles! Lolo was awarded with gold medals in the World Indoor Championship in 2008 and 2010, and won the indoor national in 2007, 2008 and 2009 in 60 meter hurdles. She should win the 100 meter hurdles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but she tripped and ended up seventh. That same year, she won a silver medal at the 2008 World Athletics Final.
The childhood of Lolo Jones was tough! In eight years she changed eight schools. Her mother had to work two jobs, so she could support the family. Her father spent most of time in the Air Force, and later ended up in prison. At the age three, she and her family lived in the basement of a Des Moines Salvation Army church. A few years ago, Lolo announced that she had to wake up early, during the summer, so other children doesn’t tease her because she live in a basement! When her family should move again, to the Forest City, Lolo didn’t want to go in a city without a track. During her education at the Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, she lived with four different families. She trained and had to work at the local cafe shop.
