Sasha Banks wins the WWE NXT title

Sasha Banks wins the WWE NXT title

Top female wrestlers for the WWE developmental group, Sasha Banks took her career to the next level on Wednesday. The 23 year old has been wrestling for five years and was one of the four participants of the fatal four-Way match together with Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship at the “TakeOver: Rival”. The event aired live at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and also aired live on the WWE Network on Wednesday.

“This has been my dream since I was ten,” says Banks. “I knew at that age that I wanted to be a wrestler. So when I turn 18 I can start training and it went by so fast. People ask me how long I’ve been doing this and I go ‘wait, I’ve been doing this for five years?’ My mind just goes oh my God.”

Banks began wrestling in the independent scene in 2010. In 2012 she was invited to WWE tryout camp and months later she signed a developmental contract with WWE.

“It feels like a whole other brand onto itself and I know for the girls and just speaking for myself being at NXT has been such an amazing experience and I feel so accomplished here as wrestling as a woman and just showing fans that women can do it better than the men. I know that at ‘NXT TakeOver’ and the fatal four-way we’ll definitely have people saying ‘oh my God, those were not Divas, those were superstars right there’”, said Banks.

Banks took out her rivals and won the WWE NXT title. WWE NXT is bound for Cleveland.
