Justin Gatlin is a sprinter from the United States. He was born in 1982. He has been the recipient of many titles including that of Olympics. He has also won both the World Indoor & World Championships along with the World Relay Championships as well. He specializes in the hundred-meter races. However, he won the World Indoor Championship for his dash in 60 Meters. Unfortunately, in 2006, he was banned from the track for doping in with a prohibited substance for a period of four years.
Gatlin joined the Tennessee University with the fame of a good hurdler in 110 meters for high school. The coaches Bill Webb and Vince Anderson realized his talent and positively motivated him for a career in sprinting. With their motivation, he was able to win NCAA Titles for 6conswquetive times. He started his professional career in 2002. He embarked on a successful career and won the Olympics Gold Medal in 2004 for hundred meters. In the same year, he was also a part of the Bronze medal winning 4 X 100 meters relay team.
Gatlin won two gold and silver in World Championships along with two gold medals in the World Indoor Championships and one Gold medal in World Relay Championships. He was suspended from the track in 2006 for having a positive test on banned substances. His ban was lifted on 2010. He returned to the game on the tour of Finland and Estonia with a win on 100 meters. His excellent performances have earned him the accolade of ‘Athlete of the Year’ for IAAF.
