The Djokovic, Federer Rivalry to be renewed in Dubai

The Djokovic, Federer Rivalry to be renewed in Dubai

Top tennis player Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will be renewing their rivalry this weekend as the two meet in the final of Dubai Championship which is set to be held later on Saturday.
The two were set to close the curtain previously in the year at O2 Arena only for Federer to pull out of the competition due to injury. This time around the two have arrived at the finals of the Dubai Championship in good form. The two, who are meeting for the 37th time in their careers, have had the organizers of the $2.5 million hard court event grinning.

In-terms of match to match statistics, the two have 10 Dubai titles between them, and Federer is ahead on the head-t0-head battle with a record of 19-17, that said last year saw Novak Djokovic prevailing in the biggest competition of them all and that’s the Wimbledon title
"When you play Roger, it's always a great challenge," Djokovic, 27, told reporters after beating fourth seed Czech Tomas Berdych 6-0 5-7 6-4 in Friday's semi-final.

"If you want to win you have to play your best tennis against Roger in the finals of any event, but here particularly because I feel this is the kind of surface and conditions that suit his game best."

The two have played three of their face offs in Dubai, last year Federer won the semi-final between him and Novak in Dubai and in 2007 he won the quarter final win against a young Djokovic, while Novak defeated Federer at the finals in 2011.
